Sunmi, Pink Sweat$, The Rose in the Wavy Baby Music Festival cast

Sunmi, Pink Sweat$, The Rose and more have been announced for Careless Music’s Wavy Baby Music Festival, taking place in Cebu next year. See list below.

Two days ago, the Philippine record label Wavy Baby, co-founded by James Reid, announced that it will be held next year in conjunction with the Sinulog Festival or Santo Nino Festival, a religious and cultural festival in Cebu held annually during the third week of January.

Now the label has unveiled most of the line-up for the January 13-14 festival, which will take place in Mandaue City’s North Reclamation area. The main headliner and one other prominent artist have yet to be announced, but confirmed performers for the festival include ex-Wonder Girl Sunmi, US R&B singer Pink Sweat$ and Korean pop-rock band The Rose. They will be joined by Australian electronic duo Bag Raiders and Filipino bands Ben&Ben and December Avenue.

As expected, many Careless Music artists are also in the line-up: Reid himself, Lesha, Jolianne and Massiah. They are joined by new signers SOS, Destiny Rogers and August Wahh.

Tickets for the festival will go live “as soon as possible,” Careless said on social media. Starting tomorrow, limited pre-sale tickets will be available to users of the Maya payment app.

Reid recently announced a North American tour to take place from January to February 2023, as well as a brand new album. In a global press conference held by the label, Reid revealed, “‘Lovescene’ is the fastest project I’ve ever done and I’m already working on another album and North American tour. I look forward to getting back on the road for the first time in four years.”

Further details such as his North American tour stops or a release date for the album have yet to be released.

Reid’s second album Lovescene: was released in October. The album also features a guest appearance by Woosung of The Rose on the track “Hold On Tight” following a previous collaboration where Reid was featured on The Rose’s latest album “Heal” and recorded a verse on the track “Yes”.

In a previous interview with NME in March, Reid also teased an upcoming Careless Music mixtape. The mixtape will feature artists from the label’s current roster, including Liza Soberano, Nadine Lustre, Massiah and others, who are named as participants alongside “many more artists”. A release date has yet to be announced.
