Republicans tear down Biden’s talking points for ‘Chatting With Your Uncle On Thanksgiving’: Sounds ‘miserable’

Republicans are tearing up a list announcing President Biden’s “achievements” that the White House says could serve as a talking point “for chatting with your uncle on Thanksgiving.”

“Using talking points at the White House to try and brief your own family on the realities of this administration seems like a miserable way to spend Thanksgiving,” Rep. Ralph Norman, RS.C., told Fox News Digital.

Earlier Wednesday, Assistant White House Communications Director Jennifer Molina tweeted President Biden’s list of accomplishments, writing, “Bring the receipts to Thanksgiving dinner!”

The list of Biden’s accomplishments included “10 million jobs created” and “no taxes on people earning more than $400,000 — he kept his promise.”

“Gas prices are down $1.35/gallon since June and inflation is easing,” the list reads.

“Now congressional Republicans are extreme,” she added. “Proposing a national ban on abortion, plans to chop Medicare and Social Security, [and] trying to increase the cost to Americans by repealing the Inflation Reduction Act.”

The Republican National Committee highlighted the gas price claim on Twitter.

Biden’s oft-repeated claims of creating 10 million jobs through America’s bailout plan have been repeatedly verified as facts exaggerated by up to 8 million, ignoring the unique economic conditions created by the COVID-19 pandemic. And while Biden didn’t introduce a tax hike for people earning less than $400,000, many economists blame his American bailout for triggering the current inflationary crisis, often described as a hidden tax on all Americans. And while gas prices are down to $3.58 since June, they’re still up about $1.20 since Biden took office.

Meanwhile, Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings is expected to cost 20% more than last year due to inflation, according to a new report from the American Farm Bureau Federation.

“Every American family around the dinner table knows that Joe Biden created the most expensive Thanksgiving day ever and his war on American energy caused gas, diesel and home heating prices to skyrocket,” said Rep. Elise Stefanik , RN.Y. said Fox News Digital.

“The government’s actions have ignited inflation and made your Thanksgiving dinner 20% more expensive,” said Senator Bill Cassidy, R-La. “This is nothing to celebrate.”

“The only time Americans say ‘thank you’ to the President is when they’re paying their heating bill or filling up at the pump,” said Rep. Tom Emmer, R-Minn. “The Biden administration’s efforts to undermine U.S. energy production means we’ll be paying 28% more for heating this winter, on top of higher costs for almost everything.”

Norman said Biden’s list does not reflect reality.

“Under Joe Biden’s so-called leadership, we are now battling skyrocketing inflation, record levels of illegal immigration, rising violent crime, military recruitment shortages, a fentanyl crisis, catastrophic foreign policy, a wide array of far-left laws, unsustainable spending and debt, a weakened economy and a bunch of other big issues,” he said.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., told Fox News Digital that now is not the time for Biden to do a lap of honor.

“Almost every family sitting around the Thanksgiving table can agree: Prices, from the gas pump to the grocery store, are out of control and hurting the wallet,” Blackburn said. “As President Biden has another victory lap, inflation remains at a 40-year high, more than half of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, and Thanksgiving dinner is expected to cost 20% more than last year.”

“The only thing this cheat sheet does is show the American people how disconnected the Biden White House is from reality,” she added. “[White House chief of staff] Ron Klain and his staff should respect the fact that “that uncle” will be with you long after you leave the White House. Some bridges aren’t worth burning.”
