Luka Doncic has announced himself in style this season. He was a regular for the Dallas Mavericks in the 2022-23 NBA season. The Mavs have won 9 of 17 games so far. We can safely assume that Luka has played a crucial role in all of those wins.
Recently, the Slovenian managed to surprise the NBA community after reaching an elite milestone. The numbers say he did better than the great LeBron James, who is in his 20th year in the league.
In terms of games played, Luka Doncic is the second fastest player in NBA history to have 7,500+ points, 2,000+ rebounds and 2,000+ assists, trailing only:

According to NBA.com, Luka averaged 7,500 points, 2,000 rebounds and 2,000 assists. The amazing fact is that it took him 280 games, 31 fewer than King James. Despite the big effort, Oscar Robertson, the former Milwaukee Bucks star, managed to reach the great heights in just 254 games.
Can Luka Doncic Become NBA MVP 2022-23?
In the 2022-23 NBA season, Doncic averaged almost a triple-double. After 16 games, he has 34.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 8.1 assists per game. The numbers show he’s been fired up in every game for the Mavs this year. Can he translate this into an NBA MVP win?
Earlier this year, predictions for the award pointed to Luka as the eventual winner. The main reason for that would be his performance in the regular season last time out. Similarly, he put in a shift this year as well. To put his performances in perspective, Luka has only had three games this season in which he has scored under 30 points. That shows how consistent he was.

In the NBA points rankings, Luka is in 3rd place with 544 points. He is just 4 and 6 points behind Kevin Durant and Jayson Tatum, respectively, despite playing fewer games. It’s no secret that Doncic wants to be the front-runner for the award this season. He meets players like Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is also considered a heavy favorite for the MVP title.
The NBA world has always touted him as a superstar, and he’s showing that this season. If fans thought last season was his best, they would be amazed at Luke’s performances this year.
