Allari Naresh is ready with his new film Itlu Maredumalli Prajaaneekam which hits theaters today. Let’s see how the movie turns out.

Story:

Srinivas (Allari Naresh) is a Telugu teacher who is sent to the Marudemalli forest area to conduct elections. After landing there, he learns about the pitiful situation of the villagers fighting for basic facilities. He then hatches a plan and joins their fight against the government. How he manages to reach his goal is the rest of the story.

Pluses:

Allari Naresh selects some interesting films and once again gives a sincere performance in this film. He as a sincere Telugu teacher does well and plays his role with utmost perfection. Heroine Anandi looks beautiful and put on a solid performance.

Vennela Kishore once again saves the film with his act. His dialogue, mannerisms, and hilarious antics can never go wrong. He holds the first half in an interesting way. Actor Shritej gets a meaty role and he was quite impressive.

Sampath as a gatherer and Praveen as a villager do well in their roles. The film’s climax was handled in an impressive manner. The film has captivating visuals and the locations chosen are amazing.

The second half has some good emotions. The little twist that’s brought into the break and how it’s carried on has been handled decently. The plight of the villagers living in forested areas was portrayed very well by the director.

Minuses:

Itlu Maredumalli Prajaaneekam has a very old fashioned plot. Several films have been made on such subjects in the past and this film is no different. The first half starts interestingly and the pause break is gripping.

However, in the second half it starts to get in the way as the solution shown isn’t that engaging anymore. The narration is decent, but a more volatile solution to the problem would have made things better.

All the police in the area can’t handle 300 people in one village. The conscripted military is also declining. This looks silly and shows the weakness in the plot.

The director should have brought more ideas from the government to deal with the villagers. Little things like that slow things down a bit. In a way, the conflict point should have been raised more.

Technical aspects:

The film’s production values are top-notch. The makers haven’t compromised one bit on the visuals, which are captivating. The camera work and production design are amazing. The film’s music is good, but the background music was even better. The editing is neat.

Coming to director Mohan, he did a passable job on the film. Although he picked up an old topic, he told it sincerely. Its cast, background and scenes are good but there is nothing new that it has presented. He made the film with good moments, but the conflict should have been handled in a gripping way.

Verdict:

Overall, Itlu Maredumalli Prajaaneekam is an honestly made film. The setting, performances, and scenes are decent, but there’s nothing new or exciting about what you’ll see here. The film has passable moments and will be liked by those who enjoy serious drama.
